With all the updated and constantly changing algorithms from Google, Bing, and Yahoo!, it can be difficult to keep up with best SEO practices. Website backlinks in particular have caused a lot of confusion in the online community and severe penalties are being imposed on websites that fail to comply with regulations.

What is a backlink?

The short definition of a backlink is any link that people can click that takes directly to your site from another place on the Internet. For example, if someone likes your business and recommends you via a link to your website on their blog, that’s a backlink. On the other hand, if the quality of backlinks is poor or low, they can negatively affect your ranking.

Think of it this way: if there are two groups of people talking about you to people asking about your services, and one of them is respected and the other is known scammers, then Google only wants to hear from highly respected groups. To this end, search engines use the site’s PageRank to “weight” the site’s backlinks.

The higher the PageRank of the site that created the backlink, the better your site will look in Google’s eyes. Search engines will think, “If so, then they will highly recommend them, then it must be a high quality site. We will recommend them too!” But if you get a lot of sites from sites with low PageRank backlinks, Google will say, “Hey, these people are not going to be respected by good pages. We are not going to respect them either.”

What’s the best way to build a good website backlink?

In the past, you could do things like request guest blogs or request backlinks, but now the best SEO practice is to focus on your own website and let the backlinks reach your own garden naturally. This is as the saying goes. By creating high quality websites with insightful, practical and original blogs, you will generate website backlinks organically.

These are also referred to as “no website backlinks required”, but whatever you want to call them (inbound links, inlinks, etc.), you can improve the quality by knowing the quality. If your product or service is good, and the material you put into it, the link will of course be fluid. Focus on answering urgent customer questions, not just “how do I get backlinks from my website”.

Provide insight into the industry and become an authority in your niche market. Give your opinion or give your own opinion on the situation and hot topics. When you do this, people not only want to share your content, but they also want to link to that content because they want to link to you.
